This website is run by Sustainable Building Services (UK) Ltd in partnership with Leicestershire County Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Compliance status

The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

(a) This website is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-compliances

  • Some text does not have sufficient colour contrast against its background, making it hard to read for users with low vision or colour blindness (WCAG 2.2 SC 1.4.3).
  • Some images do not have appropriate alternative text, so their content or purpose is not conveyed to screen reader users (WCAG 2.2 SC 1.1.1).
  • Some page regions are not properly marked up as navigational landmarks, making it harder for screen reader users to navigate the page structure (WCAG 2.2 SC 1.3.1).
  • Some headings are empty or do not follow a consistent, logical hierarchy, which can confuse users navigating by heading (WCAG 2.2 SC 1.3.1, 2.4.6).
  • Some links do not have descriptive or any accessible text, so their destination or purpose is unclear (WCAG 2.2 SC 2.4.4).
  • A small number of pages do not allow the page to be zoomed to 200%, affecting users who need to enlarge text (WCAG 2.2 SC 1.4.4).

We are working to fix these issues, with a target date of July 2027.
